What a delightful and satisfying day. We took the kids to the park and played tennis and then
on the playground. We went to Sonic for lunch and christened the new van with our first meal in the new car. Then I did some work in the yard and went foodshopping by myself (bonus). I listened to my own playlist on the ipod in the car two and from the food store, singing all the way. I noticed that people were even VERY nice at Shopright, holding the door open for each other (the automatic door was broken) and the person behind me made sure I didn't forget the eggs that I almost missed because they got stuck at the beginning of the belt.
I realized on my way home that I seriously haven't felt this happy, not content but really joyously /happy/, in a long time. I just felt so good all day today. Time with the family, sunshine, new car, good music and good food.
When I got home we put the groceries away and Jasper and I prepped food for the grill. He made "the best burgers he's ever made in his LIFE" according to him and he grilled the most delicious chicken and summer squash kibabs ever. So juicy and tasty. We soaked the chicken in olive oil, fig vinegar (thanks Evie) and some chicken seasoning for a while before we put them on the skewers. Corn on the cob on the grill and some salad to boot! Top it all off with a frozen Mojito and you just can't get much better if you tried.
Tonight I'll watch Sunday's episode of True Blood and work on a new logo design I landed. If I can knock out a few concepts tonight, I'll get to work on a web update that's been waiting in my inbox till after the http://njpea.org website launch was over.
It's 9:34pm now - time for stories and get these kids to bed. *sigh* This was one for the books! :)
