Replanted my Mountain Laurel today. I had to rescue it a couple of weeks ago when I noticed it swimming in pool of water in the poorly drained soil around it.
I added a lot more compost and top soil to the
native soil and dug up a much wider (but not deeper) hole. I'm hoping all the
top soil, compost and mulch I added will improve the quality of the soil enough
to save it in that spot - I would love for it to thrive where it is, near the
gate to my back yard in dappled shade.
I also planted a new Rhododendron about 4 feet away along the
fence. They will look so lovely blooming side by side in the
spring.
